Co-Parenting Doesn’t Always Work

I have given many clients helpful tips and methods to use while trying to co-parent.  Unfortunately, for many reasons, sometimes co-parenting is impossible.

I was emailed this wonderful article What To Do When Co-Parenting Doesn’t Work by Jennifer Webbe VanLuven of West County Psychological Associates.  She introduces the concept of “Parallel Parenting” which involves disengaging from the other parent and reducing contact so as to reduce conflict.

I think this is great advice for parents who find themselves engaged in a high conflict situation with the other parent.
